Central Park West Apartment

This apartment with views over Central Park is located in the Beresford, which was designed by Emery Roth and completed in 1929. We appreciated the character and appropriateness of the apartment, given its location, and so approached this project as a careful renovation of a classic prewar apartment. However, we saw opportunity to adjust openings between rooms to create sight lines through the apartment, and better connect rooms to each other. As a result the apartment now has better spatial coherence than the original, and natural light penetrates deeper into the space.

A wood lined study was designed, and new kitchen and bathrooms were provided, as well as new oak floors and central air conditioning.
