"Branch libraries are serving more New Yorkers in more ways than ever before, yet they remain undervalued by policymakers. Last year, The Architectural League collaborated with the Center for an Urban Future on a design study to articulate new architectural, financial, and programmatic possibilities for these essential, neighborhood-based resource centers. Six interdisciplinary design teams presented innovative design solutions for the challenges facing branch libraries. Andrew Berman, architect and principal of Andrew Berman Architect, led one of these design teams and will talk about the experience."
